TW Steel Daytona Dmax 24 Hour Race May 2015
D&D gear up for the two stroke kart race of the year
D&D gear up for the two stroke race of the year
Eagerly anticipated is this hugely successful event organised by Daytona Motorsport and sponsored by TW Steel being held on 2nd & 3rd May 2015 at Milton Keynes.
D&D have assembled together a group of talented kart drivers to form an eight man team to compete in their second year against established teams such as Red Hot Racing whose talent is demonstrated by their outstanding record of consecutive wins.
Our team, racing in the top Dmax class two stroke 125cc, comprises Allan Curtis, Tom Eastwood, Simon Gibson, Andy Parish, Bruno Botelho, Alastair Jones, Sławek żużel and Luke Gardner.
The race will be particularly interesting as the slower but still very quick Sodikarts will be on the circuit at the same time competing for their own trophies and so the 24 hour race will require full on driver concentration as clean swift overtaking will be necessary and continuously taking place.
Dmax karts have 50% more horsepower than a Sodikart, a lighter Birel race chassis and more grip in the dry thereby providing the ultimate in kart thrills and guaranteed adrenalin rush. Racing over 24 hours will challenge all competitors on many fronts, from driving fast to looking after the condition of their kart.
During race practise Allan Curtis headed the leader board recording the fastest lap time, going on the secure P2 on the starting grid for the D&D team having been pipped to the post by Tom Golding during the qualifying session.
